Robotics: The Next Generation of Endless Possibilities
I have always been interested in the idea of robots ever since Will Smith’s I, Robot and from R2-D2 in Star Wars. Now I know from this movie I, Robot, many people might get the wrong impression about robots, but I can see the potential with these mechanical machines. Robotics is a fairly new discipline in the science, engineering, and tech industry trying to make mechanical robots. Many companies have been working in this industry for awhile. but the making of them takes time. Basically, robots are a machine based AI system that can mimic or replicate human actions. The possibilities of these machines is endless. There are very many types of robots that I can see fit in many situations in the real world. There is even a robot that gained citizenship in Saudi Arabia! Like I said, the use of robots can be endless. I can see these machines being used for the types of tasks that humans do not want to take part in, i.e. house work, babysitting, working hard blue-collared jobs, all the things that we humans usually dread. Honestly, there are so many options we can use robots for the list can get tiring. One of the more creative ideas I had for robots is being companions for the elderly. I know it may sound strange, but for people who are very busy in life and can’t see their older family members often, a robot could be the perfect companion for them. They could talk with them, do housework, and just be there for them in the toughest of times. I liked this idea because I have seen elderly people have nobody in their lives, and I can see these machines being perfect fits for this situation. Another idea I had for the use of robots is the use of them in our military system. I can see this being a controversial idea, but for me it comes down to saving the lives of our American people, and contracting a robot machine to fight in the wars seems like it could work to solve this problem. I do believe we are on the verge of getting robots in some sort of manner very soon. I think it is something that is going to take this country to the next level because they can be used is so many situations. I hope we continue to develop and work on the robotics field so we can someday have these machines that can make many everyday things much easier for us.
